VIRGIN MARY: The House of the Virgin Mary (Meryem ana in Turkish), located in a nature park between Ephesus and Selçuk, is believed to be the last residence of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. The peaceful site is sacred to both Christians and Muslims, and is visited by many tourists and pilgrims.
EPHESUS: Ephesus The ancient Greek city of Ephesus was famous for its Temple of Artemis (near present-day Selçuk), which was recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After a messy period of conquest and after the population was moved from Selçuk to the the present site, Ephesus became a Roman city in 133 BC. The ancient site of Ephesus is seen entirely on foot. Pathways are signed clearly and easily navigated as you make your way through the archaeological site. The ruins are situated on the bank of a hill. There are two entry/exit points about 3 km apart. The entire ruins are easily covered on foot within two hours. Hours: off season, daily 08:00-17:30.
SIRINCE: Şirince, is a village nestled on the hills in Central Aegean Region, Turkey. It is a small village which is famous for its wine and houses. The village is quite a heaven for the photographer. down or if you are a daredevil with a head for heights, paraglide down instead.
